What information do you need to judge the performance of your local services?

Sorry, you need to install flash to see this content.

We would like to ask for your view on the way the council measures and communicates how well it is providing local services. What information would you like to know and how would you like it to be presented? How can this knowledge help you, your community or your business?

There are three key questions we are seeking your views on:

  • What do you want to know about?
  • How would you like it presented?
  • How would this information help you?

So to get started, just click on the yellow post it note ‘tell us your idea here.’ and then post your answers under the relevant questions. Also, please rate each others ideas, by giving the ideas already posted a maximum of five stars if you really like the idea, down to one star if you don’t think it is very good idea.

We have already obtained a lot of ideas from our Citizens’ Panel members (a panel of residents) and have posted these on the site. We are currently looking at how we can respond to them.

The council is committed to reviewing all comments and wherever possible suggestions will be incorporated into a revised council website, due to go live later on in the year.

You can also find out more information on the way the Council currently manages and publishes its annual performance data.

Balanced Scorecard

I want to know about:
I want a more balanced perspective of how the council is performing not just measures of perfomance that do not reflect best practice or targets of key stakeholders. This could be delivered through a proper balanced scorecard so long as residents are involved in agreeing the measures.

Publish real time telephone answering statistics on the website

I want to know about:
You should follow the example set by Jam, a telephone answering company, and publish real time performance statistics for the number of rings to answer and the succesful call rate for the last 30 days. See http://www.jam.co.uk/livestatistics.aspx

Council performance over a five year period

I want to know about:
Not so much how the council is performing in one year, but how it is performing over time. Are you getting any better?
